A shocking stat has emerged about Cristiano Ronaldo after a compilation of his shots in the knockouts of major international tournaments surfaced.
Portugal were knocked out of Euro 2024 in the quarter-final stage after losing to France in a penalty shootout.
And while Ronaldo converted his spotkick successfully,it marked the end of a frustrating tournament for the forward.
The 39-year-old failed to score a single goal at this summer's European Championships having confirmed it was his last one.
In fact, there was a continuance of his poor record in the knockout stages of major international tournaments.
Ronaldo's latest goal in the knockouts came against Wales in the semi-final of Euro 2016
However,he was denied by Jan Oblak, who superbly dived to his left and Ronaldo broke into tears shortly after.
'Sometimes it's hard and difficult to score penalties,' Ronaldo told Portuguese broadcaster RTP after the match, getting emotional again. 'I've scored more than 200 penalties in my career. Sometimes it's a mess.'
