Apple unveiled the highly anticipated foldable iPhone Duo at its September 2026 keynote.
The event marked John Termus’ first time in the spotlight as he took over as the company’s CEO following Tim Cook’s decision to move into an executive position.
Apple’s keynote offered a deeper look at the new iPhones,expected to hit shelves later this month,as well as a new Apple Watch,software revamps,and the brand-new iOS 27.

The iPhone Duo was the keynote’s major announcement,coming after several years of anticipation.
Described as the ‘size of a passport’,the Duo comes with curved edges and a 7.6-inch display when open,and a 5.4-inch display when closed.
Apple has confirmed that both screens share the same aspect ratio,and that the upcoming iOS 27 has been specifically adapted for the phone.
Controls and menus have been moved to the side of the unfolded screen to allow for more viewing space.
For techies,the phone comes with the same A20 Pro chip as the new iPhone 18 Pros,which doubles the power of the current generation’s iPhone.

It also comes with an increased battery life,a revamped Dynamic Island to display a maximum of three Live Activities at once,and comes in two stylish colours: Star White and Night Sky.
Apple has claimed that the iPhone Duo features the ‘largest’ iPhone display ever made,and it’s also looking to be one of the most expensive,as prices start at £1,999.
The iPhone Duo releases on October 23,and pre-orders begin on October 16.

As expected,Apple also announced two new flagship iPhone models,the 18 Pro and the 18 Pro Max.
The new iPhone 18s both come with several upgrades geared towards hobbyist photographers. The phones feature a variable aperture that can be adjusted either manually or automatically to change a photo’s depth of field and lighting.
Much like the iPhone Duo,both 18s run on the A20 Pro chip and benefit from increased battery life,as well as faster wired charging.
Design largely remains the same as the iPhone 17s,but the iPhone 18 Pro utilises a 6.3-inch display,while the Pro Max comes with a 6.9-inch display,perfect for larger hands.
The Pro and Pro Max will be available in the standard black and silver colours,as well as the new,gorgeous glacier and burgundy colours.
Prices start at £1,199 for the iPhone 18 Pro and £1,299 for the Pro Max – a £100 increase to both phones from last year’s models. Pre-orders begin on September 12,and the phones will hit shelves on September 18.

Two new Apple Watch models were also announced: the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
The watches both run on an improved S11 chip and come with new health-focused features,including the ability to measure heart rate more frequently.
Audio Intelligence has been introduced to the watches,alerting anyone hard-of-hearing to doorbells,alarms or sirens around them.
The Live Rewind feature,which replays the last few seconds of a conversation,sparked privacy concerns following its announcement,but Apple stressed during the keynote that audio conversations are processed and then deleted immediately.
The base Apple Watch Series 12 benefits from increased battery life,to a maximum of 24 ‘everyday’ hours and 10 hours during workouts. The watch prices start at £369 for the 42mm and £419 for the 46mm.
Meanwhile,the Apple Watch Ultra 4 offers a maximum of 50 hours of ‘everyday’ battery life and up to 45 hours of outdoor activity tracking. Available only in 49mm size,the watch’s price begins at £749.

Apple’s AirPods also got a refresh at the major keynote.
The new generation of AirPods features up to 1.5x more noise cancellation than previous models,along with the earbuds’ Adaptive Audio,Transparency,and Conversation Awareness modes.
The AirPods 5 also support Live Translation,although this is only available in selected regions,including the US,the UK,and several European countries.
Featuring deeper sound,access to the more powerful hands-free Siri AI (in English only for now),and swipable volume control on the stem of the headphone,the AirPods 5 are priced at £119 without a Wireless Charging Case,and £139 with a case.

Apple’s upcoming iOS 27 update was also shown off with a range of new features,most of which are powered by the new Siri AI.
When released,you’ll be able to extend the borders of images,crop and adjust photos with the help of AI.
The new Siri will also function as a personal chatbot relying on context through your messages,photos,emails and other files to assist you.
A revamped Health app will also launch later this year with additional insights and a new Longevity tab that estimates your health and compares it with your age.
iOS 27 will launch on September 14,with Siri AI rolling out in English.
