The Seasonal Aldi Grocery That Shoppers Are Filling Their Freezers With

Sep 20, 2023 Life

Grocery shopping for one person is a fairly easy task. You know what you like, it’s easy to avoid what you don’t like and as long as you shop smart, you won’t end up having things go to waste. Throw a family into the mix that includes a picky eater, however, and grocery shopping becomes an entirely different experience. Suddenly certain products are off limits, and the variety of items which you enjoyed as a single shopper gets whittled down to a handful of approved products.

If anybody knows a thing or two about carrying products fit for the whole family, it’s everybody’s go-to German-owned grocery store, Aldi. With decades of experience under their belt, if there’s a picky eater in your family, Aldi has the goods you’re looking for. And if you haven’t caught wind of their Kirkwood Turkey with Cheddar Sausages already, you’re likely missing out on a certified child-approved option perfect for any time of the day.

Recently posted by a dedicated parent to the Aldi subreddit, the Kirkwood Turkey with Cheddar Sausages are being described as a “lean meat” with only 110 calories, 6 grams of fat and 10 grams of protein. These fully cooked turkey sausages are made with real cheddar cheese inside, with one 13.5-ounce package retailing for $3.09. Each package contains six sausages and reportedly have 60 percent less fat than beef smoked sausage.

While these sausages are not the textbook definition of “healthy,” they do stand as a better alternative to the classic beef sausages. As the parent who posted about the product stated, “as a protein with a side of vegetables, I’ll take it.” And as the cherry on top of an already good deal, these sausages can be stored in the freezer for use at a later time, making them the perfect food item to stock up on when the price is just right.

Since this item is usually spotted during the summer though and we're rolling up on the last days of the season, here's hoping that you'll still be able to get your hands on them. You may not be able to get 100 packs like the one Redditor, but there's a possibility you can get at least two.
