The annual finals of the 2023 Rainforest Challenge (RFC) are set to take place from December 1st to 11th in the state of Perak, Malaysia, and the Chinese Ranqing K-MAN Team will be the sole representative from China in this prestigious off-road competition.
On November 7th, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended the event's launch ceremony at Dataran Putrajaya Square and officiated the flag-off ceremony. Anwar had previously participated in the inaugural event in 1997 as the Deputy Prime Minister in Kuala Lumpur's Merdeka Square.
Founder Luis J.A Wee briefed the Prime Minister on the preparations for this year's event and reported that the competition attracted nearly 300 drivers from 13 countries, including China, the United States, Japan, and Thailand.The race will span the inland areas of Perak, and on December 11th, it will return to the state capital, Ipoh.
The Ranqing K-MAN Team from China is the only Chinese team participating in this year's event, marking China's return to the competition since 2019. The team, consisting of the experienced duo of 73-year-old Hong Kong driver Li Baishou and Guangdong co-driver Wu Bin, will drive a modified Toyota LC71.
